With a small group of only 8 students maximum, our trainees receive individualized attention. The experience is a full immersion in fun, excitement and cultivation of yogic values as you engage in learning and socialization with people from different walks of life. As a result, our graduates become compassionate yoga teachers, skilled in passing on wisdom in a safe and sustainable way.
What You’ll Learn in our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training
This course promises to deliver a holistic curriculum that will deepen one’s practice on a physical, mental, and spiritual level.
- Our Yoga Anatomy module includes in-depth discussion of kinesiology and physiology to guide our students how to prepare sequences that honor the body’s natural range of motion and healthy biological function.
- Learn different postural modifications necessary to achieve our optimum alignment in every asana.
- Appreciate the history of yoga and develop a deeper appreciation for centuries of esoteric wisdom passed on by various sages who propounded this discipline.
- Learn about the subtle anatomy of our pranic body, our chakras and koshas.
- Hone your skill in creating yoga classes and sequences that are mindfully creative and anatomically safe.
- Equip yourself with professional tools as you embark on a teaching journey and learn how to build an ethical yoga business model.

Course Curriculum
As yoga teachers, it is our duty to teach practices and techniques that we personally know from our own experience. This allows for more meaningful ways to convey instruction and offer personalized adjustments. To cement this experiential learning, our teacher training program offers intensive practice sessions twice a day. We dedicate at least four hours of every training day in developing your own yoga practice.

Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics revisits the ancient roots of modern yoga. Popular yogic texts shall be discussed in context and contrast with the modern world. Lifestyle of yogis and ethics of yoga teachers shall also be discussed in detail. We believe that we can learn from every one, so this module presents our trainees the opportunity to share their thoughts and beliefs in life to foster a healthy and progressive discussion.

III. The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – 15 hours
IV. Introduction to Kundalini – 2 hours
V. Introduction to Ayurveda – 2 hours
This module tackles the structure and function of the human body, particularly the relationship of the breath and the spine in different physical movements. This course distinguishes yoga practice from calisthenics or gymnastics by emphasizing the incorporation of breath, movement and mindfulness. In this module, the relationship of the subtle energies to the physical body shall also be discussed (Koshas, Chakras, Gunas, Doshas).

VI. Understanding the Asanas – Alignment, Modifications and Propping – 10 hours

IX. Eastern Yoga Anatomy / The Subtle Energies – 6 hours
X. Introduction to Ayurveda – 2 hours
Teaching Methodology module takes on different elements of teaching such as creating a safe space for self-exploration, crafting sequences of asanas and pranayama practices, cuing students in their process of refinement, offering practical guidance in meditation, and offering examples for extending the practice off the mat. Find a purpose for your yoga practice and define a suitable path for your journey. Identify rewards and anticipate consequences of being a yoga teacher. Develop fundamental entrepreneurial skills to make your yoga career sustainable.

Siargao-based, Spanish yoga teacher and hypopressive exercise coach who has undergone 500 hours of yoga teacher training with Bodhi Yoga Center. With over 2000 hours of teaching experience, she has been actively assisting in our previous courses. Now, Teacher Mayte is ready to lead Bodhi Yoga Center’s yoga teacher training courses in Siargao.
You’ll find that her work is very unique in style as she adapts her classes according to her student’s individual needs. With more emphasis on the individual anatomy of students, Teacher Mayte gives ultimate care in ensuring the safety of every practitioner in her tutelage.
Wise beyond her and ever so compassionate, she inspires her students to practice yoga beyond the mat in their daily lives.

Assistant Trainer & Alum of Bodhi Yoga Center’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training
Jannah’s yoga journey began over a decade ago when she discovered the profound healing effects of the practice in her own life. Inspired by her personal transformation, she embarked on a path of deepening her understanding of yoga and obtaining various certifications in different yoga styles and disciplines.
She is highly skilled in the physical practice of yoga. She has a keen eye for alignment and is able to help her students make subtle adjustments that make a big difference in their practice.
In addition to her technical expertise, Jannah has a warm and welcoming demeanor that puts her students at ease. She creates a safe and supportive environment in which her students can explore their practice and deepen their understanding of themselves and their bodies.
As Bodhi Yoga Center’s assistant trainer since 2020, she has been making students feel a sense of belonging.
