Mommasté

Mommasté: a mother’s survival guide on relearning the art of self-care and establishing healthy habit patterns.

A special yoga course for mothers – present, past or future.

What could be more beautiful than the gift of motherhood?

Rearing our children and watching them grow up to become good members of society could probably be the most fulfilling thing we’ll ever experience. We always put our families first, in all the choices that we make. And we do it with all our hearts and all the love we can muster.

It’s the most difficult job in the world!

On top of stepping up our respective career ladders, we as mothers lovingly take on the challenge of caring for our family. Whether it’s to cook a nice warm meal, or to make sure the home is kept clean and tidy, mothers are superwomen who just seem to have it all put together.

But do we remember to practice self-care and enforce healthy habits?

As mothers, especially for those with very young children, it’s easy to overlook our own needs because we are so busy fulfilling our wee one’s needs first. But we must remember that caring for ourselves is not selfish. In fact, it is essential to ensure that we are at our 100% best selves, physically and mentally. Caring for our mind and body is necessary to make sure we are physically able to carry out our tasks as a family woman.

If we’re being honest, when was the last instance we made time to do something we enjoyed? Not something we needed to do out of responsibility or selflessness. When was the last time we went to a yoga class or had a leisurely walk purely out of self-care? When was the last time we had a full 8 hours of sleep?

As we grow older, our bodies begin to change both in external appearance and internal biochemistry. It’s important to cultivate habits of self-awareness if we are to notice these changes and address them in a meaningful way.

Join a community of women sharing stories and offering support!

Sometimes, no matter how much love we give and get, we encounter feelings of depleted energy and isolation. And women often suffer this in silence. After all, how can you feel depleted and isolated when your children and family are with you 24/7? We understand how conflicting these feelings are. And we want to reassure you that you’re not the only one who feels that way.

Spearheaded by Teacher April, join our community of superwomen who are also facing challenges in physical health, family life and motherhood. Listen to their stories, offer and receive emotional support from others who know exactly what you’re going through. Practice yoga, mindfulness, breathing and meditation, as healthy coping mechanisms to help us through the challenges. Exchange recipes or business ideas. Mindfully learn from other women’s stories and empower each other.
