26-Day Intensive Training

This training is not recommended for those who are completely new to yoga. We recommend at least 1 year of consistent and regular practice before embarking on a teacher training. Trainees will be immersed in various aspects of yogic studies for almost a month. Far from being a vacation, this intensive training can have different effects on people. When all is said and done, it will leave your body sore, your mind strained, and your life anew.

The question is, are you ready to be transformed?

As yoga teachers, it is our duty to teach practices and techniques that we personally know from our own experience. This allows for more meaningful ways to convey instruction and offer personalized adjustments. To cement this experiential learning, our teacher training program offers intensive practice sessions twice a day. We dedicate at least four hours of every training day in developing your practice in:

1.) Hatha Yoga Foundations – a preparatory practice to achieve the higher states of Raja Yoga

  • Shatkarma – yogic cleansing techniques
  • Surya Namaskara – salutations to the Sun
  • Asana – Yoga Postures (with Alignment, Modifications and Adjustments)
  • Pranayama – breathing techniques to expand one’s vital life force
  • Meditation – active and passive practices to help connect with one’s inner self

2.) Solar Yoga – active physical practices to tone the entire musculoskeletal system and purify the body of impurities

  • Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga – an asana system developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois wherein practitioners are given a series of intense physical postures that they need to practice and perfect
  • Vinyasa Flow – moving with the breath, Vinyasa Flow is a strong but creative practice. Each class varies depending on the anatomical or esoteric theme for the day

3.) Lunar Yoga – slow, passive practices to restore oneself physically, mentally and spiritually

  • Restorative Yoga – induces complete rest and relaxation for the body
  • Yin Yoga – applies healthy stress to connective tissues for a certain period of time
  • Yoga Nidra – induced meditative sleep to completely relax the mind and body

This is the foundation of all physical yoga practices. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation.

In most cases, it will be relatively gentle, slow and great for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed style where they hold poses longer.

The word “vinsaya” can be translated as “arranging something in a special way,” like yoga poses for example. It denotes a flowing, dynamic form of yoga connected to breath or pranayama.

This practice is a sequential movement that interlinks postures to form a continuous flow. It creates a movement meditation that reveals all forms as being impermanent and for this reason are not held on to.

Yoga nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between walking and sleeping, like the ‘going-to-sleep ‘ stage. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions.

In yoga nidra the practitioner remains in a state of light pratyahara with four of his senses internalized, that is, withdrawn, and only the hearing still connects to the instructions. The yogic goal of deep relaxation (yoga nidra) is a state called samadhi.

Yin yoga is a slower, more meditative practice wherein we relax the muscles, allowing gravity to work on our body instead. We apply gentle tension on the connective tissue over a longer period of time, usually 3 to 5 minutes per pose.

In that moment of stillness, we then learn to cultivate the practice of listening to our bodies. When our bodies become still, our breath become still. And when the breath is still, the mind becomes still.
